Amy Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor who joined the counseling team at Mount Sinai Wellness Center in July 2018. As a native of Columbia, South Carolina, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2002 and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Columbia International University in 2013. Amy is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate.
Amy provides evidence-based treatment to individuals who struggle with mental health disorders, substance abuse, and sex addiction. Amy is fully committed and determined to counsel and educate individuals facing such setbacks in life, as she believes every person, if given the proper tools, knowledge and resources, can find a path to their own personal healing and success. Amy is very thankful to be able to witness first hand the transformation in a person's daily life.
Prior to joining the counseling team at Mount Sinai Wellness Center, Amy has served as an advocate and trauma therapist for those effected by sexual trauma, Director of a Detoxification Unit, and Clinical Counselor for juveniles and adults in DUI and Drug Court Program.
Amy serves on the Board of Directors for a children home in Dahlonega, Georgia. In her free time, Amy loves to spend time with her husband and rescue dog; taking walks through the mountains or simply enjoying life.
