She has been trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and is the primary female DBT therapist at Mt Sinai. Cassandra has been working with individuals with persistent mental illness and substance abuse disorders for the past several years, including individuals with addiction, severe anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal behaviors. She has worked in many stages of residential treatment, including rehabilitation centers, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and even long term care. As a social worker, Cassandra is passionate about meeting people where they are, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves, and encouraging them to reach their true potential, without the weight of drugs and alcohol holding them down. Along with empowering current clients, she believes there is power in teaching individuals to share their story after treatment for the betterment of those still struggling with addiction and mental illness.
