Bio

 

Michael Madren, LCSW, CCTP earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and his master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Saint Leo University in Florida. Michael (Mike) has 10 years of experience with a diverse population with mental health and addictive disorders, which includes residential treatment, PHP, IOP, and Drug Accountability court. Mike was the lead clinician for North Carolina Juvenile Justice in Cherokee Co and served for 2 years on the Mobile Crisis Team in Western NC.

Mike’s clinical interests and current fields of study include Psychophysiology and Nutritional Psychiatry. Mike is currently studying Nutritional and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Professionals. He believes that nutrition is the cornerstone to a strong long-term recovery plan. Mike’s experience with a few of his professional training includes: Solution Focused Brief Therapy, DBT, MRT (Moral Recognition Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Prime Solutions, Matrix Model, trauma training, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy.

Mike is passionate about working with individuals who struggle with mental health disorders and addictive disorders. Mike’s experience helps him to be able to blend the treatment for different mental health disorders with the treatment of substance use disorders.

Mike loves the outdoors, hiking, camping, swimming, and enjoys traveling the world to exotic destinations where he can encounter new cultures and new experiences.
