What Is a Typical Day in Rehab Like?
Starting a new treatment can feel overwhelming, especially when you do not know what your daily life will now look like. At Mount Sinai Wellness Center, each day is built around your structure, support, and steady progress.
A typical day in rehab may include medical check-ins, medications when needed, group therapy, recovery meetings, meals, wellness activities, and time to unwind. Your exact rehab daily schedule may vary based on your treatment plan.
Our team helps residents stay engaged from morning through evening. This structure is designed to reduce boredom and idle time, support healthy routines, and give you space to practice new coping skills in a calm, substance-free setting.
Mount Sinai Wellness Center offers 61 available therapeutic hours each week, giving residents access to a highly structured treatment environment with consistent support, community engagement, and opportunities to participate in therapy throughout the week.

A Typical Day at Mount Sinai
Each person’s schedule is based on their needs, level of care, and clinical recommendations. However, many of our residents can expect a full day of treatments, recovery activities, and rest.
This sample schedule gives you a general idea of what happens in rehab, but your day may look different as each program is tailored towards your unique needs. Some residents may have additional appointments, medical support, individual sessions, family involvement, or other programming based on their treatment plan.
During the 8:30 am to 11:00 am group therapy block, our residents take part in processing groups twice per week with their primary therapist. On other days, this time may include rotating psychoeducational groups led by specialist addiction counselors. Each patient also receives a one-hour individual therapy session each week as part of their treatment schedule.

Why Structure Matters During Addiction Treatment
A structured residential treatment schedule is there to give each day a clear rhythm. For many people, addiction creates chaos, stress, and unpredictable routines, and rehab helps replace that pattern with stability instead.
At Mount Sinai Wellness Center, your day is designed to keep you connected to care, community, and healthy recovery habits. Group sessions can help you learn from others; wellness activities can support your body and mind; recovery meetings can help you build accountability and hope.
We’ve found that group therapy and community engagement are central and critically important parts of the Mount Sinai treatment model. For many people with substance use disorders, shared therapeutic spaces can support accountability, connection, and practical recovery skills.
